Name: Isabelle Lightwood Door: Doorpass: Submissive Canon: Shadowhunters (TV Show) Canon Point: Season 2, Episode 20 – Beside Still Water Age: 23ish (the show is unclear, she appears early-mid twenties) Appearance: one two three History:wiki Personality: - Superiority/Arrogance: Isabelle has been raised to be a protector, a warrior, and a mediator, blessed with Angel blood in her lineage, she is naturally more powerful and skilled than those without, and the Nephilim have a heritage of believing themselves to be superior to all other races, due to the others' lack of Angel blood, or possession of Demon blood. This is apparent in how Isabelle treats and responds to anyone who is not a Shadowhunter, at least at first. She can be patronizing, openly superior, and occasionally hostile, depending on the situation. Mundanes (pure humans) are especially dismissed, as they are usually the only race to also be largely unaware of the supernatural world. This belief, while Izzy does seem to push it aside when she forms relationships with downworlders, surfaces in how she responds to them when forced to choose sides, or when she needs something from them. Aside from blood content, however, Isabelle is still very intelligent, proficient, and attractive, and she absolutely knows it and has no qualms about flaunting those assets. + Confidence: Expanding on the above, Isabelle has no question about her identity. She's confident in her own abilities, in her skills and her path, and this contributes to every aspect of her personality and how she carries herself. +/- Independent: This is both a positive and a negative for Isabelle. It's a positive in that she's absolutely capable, she knows who she is and has the ability to thrive on her own, with or without a cause, she makes her own decisions and she owns them. But it also means she's much less likely to ask anyone for help when she desperately needs it, more likely to conceal her struggles and her flaws from others and get herself much deeper into trouble than she might have been if she'd revealed her dilemma to someone else, as shown in the case of her prior addiction. - Addiction: Isabelle is a recovered drug addict, after being given a powerful painkiller derived from vampire venom and developing a dependence on the high. Once the drug ran out and she was unwilling to admit her struggle to her superior who had provided it for her, and unable to procure it illegally, either, she begins a relationship with a vampire in order to continually achieve the high, by allowing him to drink her blood. At first, however, she was willing to submit to any vampire willing to bite her, and took advantage of Raphael's kindness in saving her from that fate to convince him to drink from her, instead. This addiction revealed how capable she is of being manipulative, to her own detriment and to the detriment of others, as well. + Loyalty: Above all others, Isabelle is loyal to herself and her family. When the rules stop making sense, when her family and friends are in trouble, her allegiance shifts from being a broad thing encompassing the rules set by the Clave to being a devotion to her family, to her brother Alec first and foremost and to Jace, Clary, and those other rare few she trusts. There are very few people in the ranks of those that Isabelle truly loves and cares about, and to those she is absolutely devoted and loyal. Even after she broke up with a long-term partner she still went out of her way and risked serious trouble and repercussions to prevent him from being wrongfully punished. She does not form relationships easily or lightly, but when she does, she is unfailingly loyal. Flirtatious: Despite her biases and beliefs, this doesn't stop Isabelle from being a seductress in her own right. She loves to flirt, loves to have a good time, and absolutely turns on the charm innately. It's absolutely a part of her base personality as much as it's also a weapon. Powers and Abilities: Nephilim physiology: Being Nephilim, Isabelle has enhanced strength, speed, agility, stamina, and coordination, through time spent in practice as much as genetics, and these things can improve or decrease based on time spent training, though she will always have an advantage in comparison to the average mundane. The Sight: As a Shadowhunter, Isabelle has a natural affinity to see through magical glamours and generally hidden supernatural occurrences. Runic magic: As a Nephilim, she possesses a stele and the ability to use it to draw runes on herself to enhance her abilities, stamina, etc etc. She does not know all of them, some are forbidden or very specific as well, but she can use them without the fatal harm that would come to anyone not possessing angel blood. Expert hand-to-hand combatant: Isabelle is highly skilled in both armed and unarmed combat, her weapon of choice being her electrum whip/staff. Forensic pathology: Isabelle is skilled in the study of forensic pathology and is referred to by both Jace and Alec as “the best in New York.” In one instance she successfully performs an autopsy on a new breed of forsaken (essentially a zombie) and discerns the makeup of its blood and how it was create, to great advantage for the Institute. Inventory: 1. Her electrum whip/staff in the form of a bracelet she's always wearing. 2. Her stele 3. A Seraph Blade.
